SKALE Project Update December 2018

Jack O'Holleran
Co-Founder & CEO

Hello, Everyone!

You may have noticed that we've been a bit quiet since our funding announcement — rest assured, we've been heads down and working around the clock, making progress on the technical front. Stay tuned, though, we're going to be coming out  with content covering all of the progress we’ve been making over off of these months!

In the meantime, here's a quick project update across the various functions and work streams at SKALE as well as a preview of our Editorial Calendar. While we love building, we are thrilled to be able to finally get some thoughtful content out the door so that we can share the details of the SKALE Network.

Project Update

Product and Engineering

As our CTO, Stan, says, “the keyboards are burning up!”. And the engineering team has transitioned from architecture and implementation to fixing bugs and polishing rough edges!

These fixes have manifested themselves in a live TestNet that becomes more and more robust by the day. And in two weeks, we should have a much more mature and performant network to demo! So, stay tuned for updates!

Community and Educational Content

We’re now ready to start showing everyone what’s under the hood! We’ll be releasing a series of Medium Posts over the next 12 weeks describing the network and technology — All leading up to a public TestNet and opening of the code repos in Q2’19.

Here is a preview of content that can expect to see over the next two quarters:

  • High-Level Overview of SKALE Network Architecture (coming soon)
  • Issues with Scaling and how SKALE fits into the ecosystem of Layer 2 Scaling Solutions
  • 'SKALEing' ETHDenver
  • Getting Started with SKALE and Developer Documentation 1.0
  • SKALE Leaderless BFT Consensus
  • BLS Deep Dive
  • Open Sourcing SKALE
  • N.O.D.E Foundation — Making the transition from centralized Silicon Valley Startup to a Global Decentralized Foundation.

SKALE Innovator Program

SIP, or "SKALE Innovator Program" is a white-glove onboarding experience for our dApp Partners where SKALE’s core engineering and product teams help them design, implement, test, and launch their first SKALE Chains. And with 35 high quality projects having already applied, the SKALE Innovator Program is gearing up for a strong January 2019 launch. Given the high demand, we’ve elected to extend this program with an additional cohort and extended application period!
