It’s been an exciting several weeks culminating in the recent release of the SKALE Performance Pack upgrade.  The core team, validators and community members worked relentlessly to deliver this package, which was released on mainnet over the last week.

As with any release, it’s always important to understand that upgrading a network is not a simple process. It requires coordinating 160+ nodes across 46 validator orgs globally, most of which have different hardware configurations. That means there’s no switch to just turn things on, it’s a process that occurs over a period of several days, with multiple dependencies.  It also takes a community of 40+ people communicating and ensuring that everything goes just right.

That all said, it’s great to see everything up and running and pushing towards getting more and more Dapps onboarded in the coming months.  If you’re curious what was in the upgrade, here’s a list of some of the items we included:

  • Improved skale-d stability
  • Enhanced container CPU/RAM resourcing
  • Improved IMA agent event search
  • Fixed several issues related to nodes with high load transactions
  • Fixed issues related to IMA under high load M->S transactions
  • Patches and improvements related to filestorage, IMA, and skale-d security

All of these improvements solidify the SKALE Network for deploying large scale defi and NFT Dapps. A big thank you to all the validators and community members that help make this upgrade a success.  If you are curious to see what’s next, please visit the roadmap at http://skale.network/roadmap . As always, this is all available in the SKALE github respository.

About SKALE

SKALE is a multichain network composed of an unlimited number of secure, decentralized, high-performance Ethereum Blockchains. These SKALE Chains were purpose-built to bring Web3 to billions of consumers around the world. SKALE’s advanced cryptography and pooled security model is fast, secure, and decentralized, allowing developers to deliver amazing user experiences to end users without gas fees or latency. SKALE’s modular and extensible platform includes EVM functionality, file storage, interchain messaging, and machine learning capabilities, but is open sourced and designed to allow developers to easily use best of breed solutions when necessary. This architecture further allows applications to run completely on SKALE chains without centralized dependencies.

The SKALE Network is an open source project with many contributors including SKALE Labs, Inc. headquartered in San Francisco, CA. The SKALE Network’s supporters include Arrington Capital, Blockchange, ConsenSys Labs, Hashed, HashKey, Floodgate, Multicoin Capital, Recruit Holdings, Signia VP, and Winklevoss Capital.
